Carpet Cleaning Ocean Reef, in my words
Sea breezes, ocean views, and a marina on the way
I love Ocean Reef, and it’s an easy 30 minute run from Ellenbrook. Gnangara Road carries on as Ocean Reef Road, all the way to the Ocean Reef Boat Harbour, which is busy with upgrades at the moment. I’m excited about the new Ocean Reef Marina development. I also like how the streets in Ocean Reef are laid out, with plenty of cul-de-sacs, which makes it much safer for kids to play outside without cars racing past. The homes are established, with good-sized backyards that leave room for a pool and outdoor entertaining. That’s the kind of busy family home that needs a good carpet cleaner in Ocean Reef, and it’s why Steamz Carpet and Tile Cleaning is out here so often.
Below is a real job for carpet cleaning Ocean Reef, described in my own words: what the carpets were like, what I did, and how they turned out. From time to time I add another local job to this page, so you can see exactly how I work in Ocean Reef and nearby suburbs like Iluka, Heathridge, Kallaroo and Mullaloo.

Move-in carpet clean in a two-storey Ocean Reef home
Four rooms, a living area and a staircase – move-in carpet cleaning in Ocean Reef, two days before the furniture arrived.
The job
A newly bought home in need of a deep carpet clean
A customer had just bought a two-storey home in Ocean Reef and wanted the carpets cleaned before her furniture arrived. My AI assistant took her call while I was busy on another job, and I contacted her back to arrange it. We booked the clean two days before the move, to give the carpets plenty of time to dry. The carpet was cut pile in two downstairs bedrooms, the main bedroom and a second bedroom upstairs, the upstairs living room and the staircase. She also asked me to do the wardrobes.
Getting to work
Ninety minutes of vacuuming before a drop of water
- A fibre test confirmed the carpets were synthetic.
- Vacuuming alone took 90 minutes. I emptied my vacuum’s collection bin four times because of the dust and grit packed deep into the pile.
- I noticed ripples in the upstairs second bedroom carpet, so I photographed them before starting, since moisture can make existing ripples worse.
- I pre-treated every visible stain, then pre-sprayed with specialised products followed with truck-mounted carpet steam cleaning (hot water extraction) throughout, including the stairs (treads and sides) and the wardrobes.
- I left the windows open for ventilation and asked the owner to keep them open until moving day.
Result
Freshly cleaned carpets for the new homeowner in Ocean Reef
Most stains came out completely or improved dramatically, including a large one in the upstairs second bedroom. The ripples became more noticeable during cleaning, as expected, and should mostly settle as the carpet dries. The new owner moves into a home with hygienically clean carpets and a fresh start. She also asked about Ocean Reef tile cleaning, but with only a small section in the downstairs toilet needing it, she decided the rest of the tiles looked good as they were.
Carpet Cleaning Ocean Reef: Straight answers from the job, not a brochure
Should I get carpet cleaning done before moving into a newly bought home in Ocean Reef?
Yes, it’s the best time to do it. You don’t know how the previous owners lived, what spills or pets the carpet has seen, or when it was last cleaned. With the rooms empty, every corner is reachable, and carpet cleaning in Ocean Reef before moving day means you start with hygienically clean carpets. For the Ocean Reef home on this page, we booked the clean two days before the furniture arrived, so the carpets had plenty of time to dry.
Why do you spend so long vacuuming before cleaning?
Because most of the dirt in carpet is dry soil, and water turns it into mud. In this Ocean Reef home I spent 90 minutes vacuuming and emptied my vacuum’s collection bin four times. That’s common: household stick vacuums usually aren’t strong enough to lift the dust and grit settled at the base of the pile, especially in cut pile carpet. Removing it before hot water extraction is one of the biggest reasons carpets come up clean and stay cleaner for longer.
How well does carpet stain removal work?
Most can, but not all. On this carpet cleaning Ocean Reef job, most stains came out completely or improved dramatically, including a large one in the upstairs second bedroom (see the before and after photos). A few were permanent. Some permanent-looking stains can be improved further with advanced stain removal, which is a separate, specialised service I can quote on after seeing them.
Can ripples in carpet get worse after cleaning?
Yes, temporarily. Ripples (also called rucking) usually come from the carpet stretching loose over time or from the original installation. Moisture can make the carpet relax further during cleaning, so existing ripples may look worse at first. They usually settle as the carpet dries, but carpet that was already rippled may not flatten completely. The permanent fix is re-stretching by a carpet layer. In this Ocean Reef home, I photographed the ripples in the upstairs second bedroom before starting, so the owner could see exactly what was there beforehand.
Do you clean inside wardrobes?
Yes, on request. Wardrobe carpet gets little foot traffic, so a thorough vacuum is usually all it needs, and I include it as standard. If you’d like the wardrobes steam cleaned too, as the owner of this Ocean Reef home did, just ask when you book.
Can you clean carpeted stairs in two-storey homes?
Yes. Stairs are one of the highest-traffic areas in a two-storey home, so I give them extra time. On this Ocean Reef job, I vacuumed each step, treated the stains, then hot water extracted both the treads and the sides.
Can furniture marks in carpet be removed?
Often they can be improved, but not always removed completely. Heavy furniture crushes the carpet fibres and compresses the underlay beneath them. During cleaning, I work on these marks to lift the pile, and lighter indentations usually recover well. Where very heavy furniture stood for years, the underlay and fibres can be permanently damaged, and some marking will remain – which was the case on some places in the Ocean Reef home.
How long does carpet take to dry after cleaning?
Usually around 6 to 8 hours, depending on ventilation, weather and carpet type. Fresh air makes the biggest difference. In this Ocean Reef home, I asked the owner to keep the windows open until moving day, and because we cleaned two days before the furniture arrived, the carpets were fully dry well before then.
Do you also do tile cleaning in Ocean Reef?
Yes. Steamz cleans tiles and grout as well as carpets, and I can do both on the same visit. On this job, the owner asked about Ocean Reef tile cleaning too. Only a small section in the downstairs toilet needed attention, and the rest of the tiles looked good, so she decided to leave it for now. I’ll always tell you honestly whether a clean is worth it.
How much does carpet cleaning cost in Ocean Reef?
Carpet cleaning is priced per square metre, so you only pay for the area cleaned. A minimum call-out of $360 applies because of the truck-mounted equipment setup, and it covers up to 45m². Most homes fall between $360 and $600, depending on size and condition. Urine, odour treatment and advanced stain removal are quoted separately after I’ve seen them.
What if you can't answer when I call?
My AI assistant answers when I’m busy on a job, takes your details, and I call you back. That’s exactly how this Ocean Reef job was booked: the customer called while I was working, and I got back to her to arrange a date and a time for the carpet cleaning.
